First time posting on here. I usually collect US silver coins.

Was offered these coins as part of a group lot. Pictures aren't great, but wondering if someone that could read Chinese could spot an immediate error, as the matchup seems to be the first sign of a fake from what I have read in the threads here. Thanks in advance!

@mwalt, first welcome to CCF. Second, you are right to be very cautious with these. As a first pass, can you please examine whether any of them are attracted to a magnet? Also, if you could please post the weight of these pieces, that would be good. Thx.

The first looks like a pattern coin that was never in circulation as most were melted down.
If genuine it would be worth multiples of tens of thousands of dollars.
The piece should be 39.5mm by 2.5mm and should weigh 27.4 grams.
The second piece gives me some serious doubts as to just what it is supposed to be. The legend is not so clear.
Not sure about the third piece.
Maybe someone can find out.
I'm not sure the two sides belong together?

Unclear at first, but a closer look at coin 2 I see now it looks like a very scarce or perhaps a pattern coin from 1910 Yun-Nan Province. The name, at first, was not well defined leading to my confusion. If it was genuine, the value could be well into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I would never buy Chinese coins without examining them in hand or from a reputable dealer.

To follow up on coin #2, it should be 39.5mm by 2.5mm, and perhaps the weight might be 26.8 grams.
But it is known that Yunnan failed to maintain standards of fineness so weight and specific gravity could be different compared to good quality dollars from some other provinces.
Regarding specific gravity, since coin #1 should be .900 fine silver, the specific gravity should be very close to 10.3
I did find out what coin #3 is supposed to be.
It looks like Chu Yu Poo first anniversary commemorative medal of 1927: L&M 962, Kann 690 being 39.5mm by 2.5mm weighing 26.5 grams.
If genuine the value should be well into multiples of tens of thousands of dollars.
So just looking at the pictures provided, I don't see obvious errors, but since these three pieces are supposed to be very scarce and of so much value, I'd be in doubt as to the authenticity of what is being offered.
I do find it odd to be offered an 1889 Kwangtung dollar ($20,000+) seemingly surviving after they were promptly melted and soon disappeared from circulation. And that it also appears to look no different compared to a rare 1910 Yunnan dollar ($350,000+) as well as a 1927 commemorative medal ($50,000+).
Causes me to wonder if they were all made at the same place and at the same time?
Can you tell us what price the seller is suggesting if they are being offered to you?

They all aren't genuine. This is part of the super counterfeits that have been produced in the last 5 years.

And let's get real, when someone offers a big batch of ultra rare Chinese coins for some silly prices, you are much better off winning the lotto 100 times.
