Acquired this by trading a duplicate type coin. An 1897 Liberty Gold raw coin plus cash. I had three, an 1897, 1900 and 1907. The 1897 was obviously the lowest grade of the three. That Liberty was about AU55. I still have the same amount of gold and filled the hole in my type set for $200.00. Pretty happy to have a long time wanted example for my type set. Still have a few smaller denomination Liberty types and a Three Dollar Princess on my want list. Priority is the Three Dollar Princess.

Congrats! Nice one. The gold type coins are tough to assemble, but are definitely beautiful.

I was going to say "beautiful" (which it is), but I didn't want to parrot others.

congratulations on your acquisition. to me the coin looks MS64. maybe there is just a tad too much chatter to the left of liberty

There's a hit or light bag mark scratch on the rising sun that goes up leftward to the field. But I like the head of Liberty not having a (not too) flattened nose. Still happy with it. kind of blends in nicely with the others. Wouldn't want it being too nice now would I?
