Agreed, polished with no remaining luster. Maybe $15 to someone looking for an affordable type coin.

Suggest shooting photos using a diffused light source--tracing paper or translucent white plastic can work well; reduces glare (less contrasty).

Thanks I've been having lighting issues. The first pic was with the flash of the camera. I didn't think it looked right either. It's not cleaned polished tho.the second is without flash looks more like it in person but the pics don't do it justice.

Thanks just seeing how off you guys would be. according to PCGS one in 68 state sold for 80,000 at heritage auctions. You can say it's polished all you want. It's not the next pic shows that. Thanks tho I just needed to see where we stand here. Your opinion is just that.

Thanks. Thought someone would have a clue what they are talking about here. An uncirculated pristine 42 walking liberty is junk silver? The obverse is the same as the reverse. It's has full details, full bright luster, full ridges on edge no wear at all not a scratch or mark on it. Junk silver? It'll be a different story once it's graded. Even if it was polished I don't see it dropping the value by 79,985 dollars. But if you say so it must be true.

It's not worth $80000, yours is not even close to MS 68. I don't even think it's MS at all.
It's worth from $15-$50 depending on condition based on your photos I can't tell whether it's $15 or $50 but I'm leaning toward $15

Prestigeww...
You have the coin in-hand, we do not. As such, you can view the coin in ways we simply can't. If you feel your coin is in the MS67 or better range, consider submitting it to a reputable 3rd party grading service. If you do, please let us know what the determination is.
Given the photos posted, I'm seeing high AU to low MS. I can't make a better determination, given the images.

Perhaps it's the glare, but I don't see high MS, and that's me not being very experienced in grading Walking Liberty halves, but just going to PCGS Photograde. That being said...what's with the antagonism? You asked for an opinion. You didn't get the opinion you wanted so you insult people. Ever heard the phrase "you attract more flies with honey than with vinegar?" I'm looking forward to your posting when it comes back from PCGS.

Every time I see a post that starts off with "How much is this worth" I should just ignore it as its always:
Hey I have a penny I found in the parking lot that I just ran over a few times, its perfect on one side and all damaged on the other. It had to come from the mint like that . Its worth millions.
Or the other:
I found a "perfect" MS state coin (whether its a cent, dime, nickel, rutabaga, what ever) its perfect. I see that the other perfect one in existence is worth $80000, my 2nd perfect and polished rutabaga has to be worth the same amount.
Well if its polished its details and worth melt.
I have an $80K coin, I'm getting it certified.
And we never see the op again and never see the $80K coin....

@hfj, you will see that I have slightly modified your post to be a little more family-friendly. I know that it is frustrating when someone blows in here with what they consider to be treasure, but it clearly isn't. I'd ask all of you to keep the conversation a little more accommodating and friendly. Thx.
