I opened a roll of BU1955 Lincolns and 16 of them have a die crack in the scull that seems to get progressively worse. One of the coins also has a crack at the base of Lincolns' coat. If enough people are interested, I will take pictures numbering each picture. Of course, this will take a while to do. The pictures will not be in order of severity, that would be you guys job. I have very little knowledge of die cracks other than the die is cracked LOL

I know there are crack experts out there (hey that could be interpreted several ways) anyway if enough of you reply I will do the work for you no problem.

I have a thing for '55 (P) cracked skulls. They often show Die Deterioration characterized as the 'poor man's doubled die'. Also, the reverse has a high incidence of die chips. Would like to see just a sampling of what you have. No need to see them all. Thanks.

Here are some. They may be of different die cracks. Seeing them all would let you make that decision. They were all in the same roll. Some look to be an extension of a previous one.
I am at the infant stage of learning this, but I will catch quickly. Not posting all of them leaves some gaps in the picture. I know darn well one wouldn't get all the cracks in one roll? would they? The third and fifth one without the cracks look good enough to submit ms-66 maybe? This is under 50pwr magnification

I think they are all different obverse dies. Very nice distribution from the same roll..

I'm with the others, different dies but very cool finds. The fifties were good for the cracked skulls and BIEs too.

The confirmation that they are all from the same die, would require die markers, even if on the reverse die, that would match them all. I feel they be of are from the same die pair, from the same/different die strikes of the same dies. (A die marker would confirm this even if it was on the reverse dies)

Some of them are from the same die. Just different progressions in RIDC or IDC. Again, go to cudsoncoins and you should be able to match them up. Beautiful coins.

Not super sure what to look for with the markers but on top the I of in god we trust seems to have the same groove on four of the pictures. Is that the kind of thing to look for?

A die scratches that is visible on either obverse or reverse sides of the coins in question. That would be one way to determine if they are from the same dies.
