How much are common date Seated dimes worth that are AG. I mean they might be G, but I doubt it.

You can read the date fine, but making out much detail is very hard to due. They are pretty badly worn and then toned over in a very dark way (almost black).

I got a decent deal on them. They were part of a group of Walker halves. I think I figure I gave about 6-7 $ for each walker (they were G grade) and a few bucks for the seat dimes assuming you broke out the purchase price.

I know I have two 1876 dimes and I am wondering if I want to keep these 4 or maybe sell them. I am considering starting a 7070, but I don't know. It is a big can of worms to open up.

Here's a link to the NumisMedia Seated dime page.

http://www.numismedia.com/fmv/price...icesgd.shtml

NumisMedia only goes down to G-4. Coin World's 'Coin Values' guide does give values for AG Seated dimes. I think the values listed there are rather high, but it may be useful to note that it indicates AG dimes are worth around 2/3 the G value.

All these guides are retail values.

AG grade coins that old are a bit tough to set a price to. You can always get melt value for them, but I'm sure you paid more than that.

Since it is an older series, it isn't as popular or sought after as the Mercurys or Franklins or most of the other recent series.

So someone who is actually looking for them probably isn't too interested in low grade examples unless it's an otherwise expensive key or semi-key.

On the other hand, these coins sell on e-bay all the time. But there is really no way to predict what you can expect. It really is worth whatever someone is willing to pay (unless it is a scarce date...)
Rest in Peace

I've seen them go from $5-10 for common dates on the bay.

That is the type of coin you should look at ebay for going values. As noted already some really older types of coins are not as widely collected and prices are basically set by demand.

I've bought G+ common dates for $2, so I wouldn't pay much over a dollar for an AG.

I was thinking around $4-6 each. It may depend on the condition. If they are plumb wore down, but without other problems, you'll get more than one that's outright damaged. Many low quality older coins like that are gouged or have clipped edges or are harshly cleaned.

If you are interested in one for a type set example, I'd liquidate all of them and put the money towards a nicer example. IMHO

If you're mainly interested in acquiring silver, you could offer to trade for 4-5 silver roosevelt or Mercury dimes, which sounds fair to me.
