@cool, can you be a little more descriptive about what you are asking? Is your question about whether that is a D mintmark or how this amount of damage has occurred? Thx.

Would like to see a pic of the reverse. That said, the one image suggests exposure to a corrosive environment, such as acid. Any chance we could get an accurate weight? Thanks.

First off

I think that this coin was exposed to a caustic environment, possibly in acidic soil for a time.

Your coin doesn't like acid baths. (Most don't) The weight will be reduced on your coin.

I have a 72 that looks exactly the same I'll post a pic tomorrow the back looks good on mine but the face is just like that
