Just adding a bit of variety to the stacks of Lincoln Cent laminations I've got. Figured this was a nice example for a silver dime. 1964-D Roosevelt dime mint error - lamination loss 2.49g

One of the better instances I've seen on a dime.

I don't remember seeing a silver dime with a lam before. Thx for sharing this one with us.

Thanks! But heading out in a couple minutes for another cave trip so will check in later today. This one isn't known for having many bats, but large stream walking passage will be a nice change from the muddy crawling and chest compressor squeezes of the one last week.

If it wraps over into the reeds, then it might be a struck through error? If so the weight will be normal. If a lamination, the weight will be slightly reduced.

Coop, are you saying a lam can't go across the coin completely to the rim?

Trop, curious as to what you use to take your pics?

Folks do not take me negative guy. This coin it is not an foliation silver. The silver do not foliate like this. In the circles I done show some material melt. Second, the silver do not foliate strait on line. Third on the apparently foliation the strike it is much more large then the rest. My opinion.

Yeah, a bit rare but silver dimes can do a split planchet thing and this one is similar to some others I've seen before.

MNCTM, My photo outfit is pretty basic. Full coin pics are taken with a little Canon S95 point and shoot on a red post it note. Lighting is a bare bulb (the type of bulb make a LOT of difference) about a foot above and 6 inches behind the post it not. There is enough stabilization in the camera that I just hand shoot the pics although there is a little jar of just the right heights there for me to rest my hand on to help keep away the blurries. My macro shots are through an AmScope trinocular scope, but I usually cheat and just point my iPhone through the lens instead of firing up the scope's onboard camera.
