I just found this penny and I would really appreciate any thoughts. I hope the photos help to identify the error.

Please take a close up of the chin as seen in your last obverse photo. It does appear to be a double chin but I cannot determine if PMD or result of die strike.

Just Machine Doubling. How can you tell? Note the first two images you can see the MD on those areas, but on the last three it is hidden by glare on other areas because if it flat. A doubled die will be raised, not incuse.
Note on the big 1955 DDO all the areas of the face that were affected by hub doubling:

Do see the doubling on these areas? Are they raised or incuse? They are raised on all areas. So we see incuse marks on these areas, it is Machine Doubling. If it is hub doubling (incuse on the die) then the devices on the coin will be raised above the fields and design. So what you are seeing is Machine Doubling on your coin.
1. Affects the outside/inside areas on the devices flat looking. On a doubled die the spread is on the centers of the devices showing a raised area, not the view of MD, that removes contour of the devices.
2. On a doubled die the doubling is created on the die. Machine Doubling is caused by the machine, not by the die. So Machine Doubling can happen on a doubled die, but Machine Doubling never creates a doubled die.

Not an error, it is MD. You can see it on the forehead as well.

That's really strong MD though, a good one to save for reference, if nothing else.

@777, thx for adding new pics. These help to confirm what others said above. I thought I'd pipe in about what pics would be most helpful as a general rule—not so much for this coin in particular, but rather your future threads here.

1. All pics should face up. Rather than rotating the coin to get different light angles, move your light and keep the coin right side up.
2. Only one overall pic of each side is needed.
3. Usually only one close-up pic of the area of interest is needed.

I look forward to seeing your next find posted here!
