When do we find out what PCGS gave it for a grade?

AU-53/55. I'll go with 55 based on eagle's left wing, EPU banner and strength of hair on the obverse. I think it straight graded - coins of this era get a pass for light cleanings in the past.

I'm having a hard time telling an EF45 and an AU50 here, too much toning hiding the surfaces, I see a few pockmarks around the face of Miss Liberty so I'm going EF45 on this on. Also as MisterT says a HUGE difference in pricing between the grades, I think PCGS is erring on the low side for the same reason, heavy toning.

While it's the grade I assumed they gave it, can't say I totally agree. Not a fan of the surfaces on this one. Wonder if it would have received that grade and CAC'd had it been submitted by someone else.

When Hanson made his buys, he purchased a lot of full high end collections. I have noticed a lot of the coins that Hanson does not want get put back up for sale with the Hanson label.

I just checked the values on the PCGS site. $6750 in XF 40, $40K in AU 55. No value given for grades between

you need to click on the items number in the first column and it will give you the other grades. for an AU50 they have it valued at $8k. none have been auctioned recently at that grade and only show 36 at AU50. with the bean the coin may go for close to that. the eye appeal imo could be better but CAC didnt seem to care.

Slider23 there is the DL Hanson NBS Symposium meeting coming up soon, you could always ask the question there about DL's duplicate sales, I'm kind of curious too, but I can't make that presentation due to work and it being on a Friday afternoon. I'll have to catch it on the replay later in the month.
