What do you guys think of this one? The surface looks strange in these photos...the true view looks a lot more toned and colorful.

you can still see the blue/green toning even though its not prominent in the photos. it may be knocked for eye appeal to an XF45 but I'm giving her an AU50. series is not in my wheelhouse but I'm learning

I had a hard time trying to see wear from the first photos, but the Tru Views provide a different lighting that makes the wear noticeable. I am between AU-55 and AU-58, I'll put my final guess at AU-55.

The coin surface and toning does not appear to be natural. The darker images remind me of a coin that was coated and the coating remains in the protected areas. PCGS 50/53

I'm right there with slider23. Surfaces don't look right based on the protected areas. Maybe lightly polished, briefly circulated and retoned. Luster in those areas does not look right. Guessing they called it AU50, I'd leaned towards AU Details based on the pics.

Considering how far off I was with the dimes of this series and consistent with how the TPG's graded those, I would have to take a guess at AU-55

Surfaces don't look completely original but I'd expect a straight grade. Probably makes AU-50 for detail; I'd estimate a net/market grade of XF-45.
Price for this date goes way up at AU-50 which might influence a TPG to grade it on the conservative side. Great coin, regardless.

Wow, a $10K price difference between XF and AU! Grading would have to be spot on!

I just checked the values on the PCGS site. $6750 in XF 40, $40K in AU 55. No value given for grades between.
