Greetings All! Before I begin, you guys are MONSTERS in this space. Collected a bit when I was a kid but NEVER to the level I've seen on this site. Truly impressive. After spending the last couple of weeks on here I FINALLY took the plunge to join. This is my first post so bear with me as I kneel at the altar of your expertise and knowledge. Been going through a ton of my coins and have come across several that caught my eye; this being one. This is what I'm seeing but need more experienced eyes on it to know if I've got a Keeper or a Spender: • Misstrike • The uneven lettering: caused by misstrike or PMD? • Solid "D"? • "overlapping" clad on the edge • unven thickness I have scoured the web trying to find something similar but have had no luck. Any help/guidance is appreciated. Can upload more pics if you guys see anything of interest. Thank you all in advance! (and future posts will be more concise now that I've shown my Inner FanBoy)

I agree with john1 on being an off ctr. strike. The missing reeds on the edge is most likely due to the coin used for slot machines at one time. to CCF

For me this would be worth saving in a 2x2. Well done @pock and welcome to CCF.

A worn coin, but, the first picture of the edge shows that some of the metal is folded over the reeded edge and covering it up, kind of like a folded Rim Fin but on the edge instead.

Oh yeah, I forgot! and in the future try to not to handle your coins with metal instruments - they can get scratched that way.

Thank you guys for the warm welcomes and input. Does anyone think this is worth grading? I know it's well-worn, but it seems (to my untrained eye) that there could be some value here.

to the CCF. Looks like a partial collar slightly off-center strike. I wouldn't send it in. Needs to be worth $150. to justify sending it in.

Nice coin, this is a partial collar. Not worth grading, but a super cool coin to set aside in your collection.

Not worth grading, maybe Air-Tite worthy though. John1

I agree partial collar issue. Part of the reason the coin is a slight off center strike. In the collar partially angling the planchet. The area that are not in the collar expand because the edge is not contained. Thus the areas out of the collar will enlarge on the edge, the areas that were in the collar will show the reeds on the edge of the coin. A keeper. If it were a BU coin it would be worth a lot more. But your eyes spotted it. Good job.
