There is some deterioration the st on trust are connected. The w in we appears tripled really.

The flattening and expansion that looks like doubling or tripling on devices is the result of die wear/die deterioration on this coin, the die was at the very late stage when the coin was struck.

Agree with Chase007--a combination of Die Deterioration and circulation wear. Not a DDO.

Vending machines Alter the Motto on that area often on coins. Note the same distance on all devices near the rim. That is Vending machine damage to the coin.
