Firstly, thanks for having me. I'm not an experienced coin enthusiast by any means, but it seems as of late, I've been acquiring more and more pocket change either from people's unwanted jars or just in everyday transaction...or perhaps I just started noticing. Anyway I don't know enough to know what I'm looking for, and that is of course the fault of ignorance on my part as to not having researched enough as of yet.
So, I was rolling some coin that a friend/client of mine couldn't be bothered with and while Quarters are my favorite (likely because a roll of quarters may had were gold in the arcade as a kid). I moved on to dimes and ran across this anomaly. It's a 2016D
Roosevelt dime. It's super shiny with no wear, but it's bent. What strikes me as odd is that at the bend marks one can clearly see an arc with what appears to be the radian of another dime. One bottom right and a lesser bottom left. At first, I thought
PMD (if that's the right acronym) but then looking closer I'm not so sure.
I have a USB microsope I can pull out that has little rulers etc. on it, but just looking at cell phone imagery the upper left rim(?) is certainly larger and more raised that the 'squished' bottom left. Also, Mr. President looks like he has warpaint on his eye, diveted and darker which is inconsistent with the quality of the rest of the coin.
Again, I'm not a pro and would certainly value any input on this, even if to say "someone prolly slammed it in the car door."
Thanks again,
-jb
