Not a real coin.
It is just one of many miniature coins produced outside of the mint.
Just google "us miniature coins ebay" to find dozens of different ones for sale.

Pardon my inquiry, but what does "happened upon" mean in this specific situation?

It's just a 1/10th ounce silver round. They come in multiple designs that resemble real US coins.

These are pretty nice, I almost picked up a few last week, they have a small premium over spot (at least at my LCS).

I don't know who made this round. Numerous private mints make silver rounds/bars. Some went out of business years ago, were bought out by another company or are still making products. They mint theme rounds with specific designs or make them look similar to official government coins. There are collectors who like to buy vintage rounds/bars. It can sometimes be difficult to find out who made them if there's no mint name/logo on them. There are fakes out there so we all need be careful.

My kid work as a cashier in a convenience store. When he sees something odd about a coin, he puts it aside and buys it back. He is not so interested in them. He gets them cause he knows I'm collecting. Good kid. Somebody spent this as a dime.

I think they are cute but I see a roll of 50 (5 ounces) doing $200 on ebay? I could see spot, maybe $125, but not that

1/10 oz silver is worth more than a dime. . Some dealers sell small silver rounds but it's expensive. I don't buy them. SD Bullion has 1/10 oz $4.89 each, that's $48.90 per ounce.
