Advice On 2017 Indiana George Rogers Clark Quarter Errors

Second, with heavy, flattened rims and wear in the central portion of the coin, this looks to me like damage. I'm thinking this is a Dryer Coin. JimmyD Bedrock of the Community Canada 21634 Posts	Posted 05/28/2022 11:42 am Not Broadstruck as it would be larger, not smaller and also shows partial reeding. Slightly smaller and thicker rims means either an early stage Dryer Coin or spooning. Either one are considered damage to the coin as this could not occur during the striking of the coin. How do I know they were there. Look at the deepest points of the reeds. You can see they were there, now they are removed. So like a wrecked car, the damage wasn't there before the sale, but now that it has been damaged, it is not a factory error. Same with a coin. Someone/something altered the coin after the strike. The coin is now a cull coin. Just a face value coin now. Report this Post to the Staff
