There is only a small hand full of various coins that I have been looking to acquire for quite a while. One of these was an Irish silver penny that was struck at King John's Castle when it was being built in Limerick Ireland at the mint inside of the castle. King John's Castle is one of the most well preserved mid-evil castles in Europe. I visited that castle with a friend while in Ireland in 2015 and stood in the castle mint that had been there more or less unchanged since the castle was built over 800 years ago. There are very few places in the world where you can do something like that and since then I have always wanted a coin minted at that mint and I was able to acquire the below example recently. I am still waiting for it in hand but I'm excited. This one makes a cool story and is a good conversation piece in my opinion. Hey @cas, that is pretty cool. I agree that medieval Irish silver is fun to pick up. Well done.
