Beat up but, Excellent find. Nice pics, too.
As long as you don't dip it in copper cleaner I should think cleaning it should be no problem. Poke away crud with a toothpick, lightly brush with a toothbrush and dish soap, etc. Acetone does little to nothing...
Zincolns need extra attention to keep from rotting away over time.

Very cool find, congrats! I know many use rose thorns but as CentSation stated, a toothpick works well. Just time and patients. I usually soak mine though, to soften them up a little.

Very nice find! A strong doubled die and one I don't see very often. Solid example as well.

A cool example. Acetone does many things well, but it can't/won't do everything.

Quote: lightly brush with a toothbrush and dish soap, etc. Please DO NOT clean your coins! Many are ruined, stripping away a coin's patina. Just don't do it, even a little.

Nice clear doubling @hwb—super find. I think it looks pretty good "as-is".

I agree with Merclover - It looks fine as it is, Leave it alone and save it somewhere, somewhere it won't get more grime and gunk on it.

What you will remove if the top layer of the plating. If there are any split plating areas on your coin, any acid will break the coin down instantly. Best to keep it safe as it. Why ruin the coin?
