This is what as known as a " Texas Cent" which is intentional post mint damage made by pounding it inside two leather straps. Value: 1 CENT.

to the CCF! merclover is correct! This is a Texas Cent. Someone took a zinc core Lincoln Cent, placed it between something like two layers of leather (a belt maybe) and pounded it with a hammer. This caused the copper layer to be obliterated and increased the diameter of the remaining core. I'm not sure just where this modification started, maybe as an attempt to fake an error or some type of "coin art." These show up here from time to time.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

Interesting information. I can't believe someone would go through the effort to modify a coin in such a way, lol.

The missing plating tells me it was squashed and the enlarged post strike. As mentioned already the Texas Cent was altered. That is what you have. Now just a damaged coin. The zinc rot will be setting in on this one and it will disappear in time.

I'm not completely convinced that everything people are saying about this is correct.. I happened upon one of these as well.. and it just so happens to be the same year and mint as the one posted here.. 1994 D .. little too much of a coincidence.. I'm in AZ btw..
