What do you see that makes you think it would carry a premium?

I don't. I was just wondering if the W coins are worth something and if I should have it graded?

It's not worth that much to spend money on grading it.
It would probably sell for about $8.

It is a keeper for sure. but not gradable (unless you really want it graded) but it will cost you.

Agree. It's worth keeping, but certainly falls below a 'standard' for grading submission. Yes, it's worth anywhere between $6-10, even in that circulated state.

A super find in the wild @mun. Certainly worth saving in a 2x2.

I agree, a few dollars and not worth grading. Nice find.

Nice pocket change find! The 2019-W "American Memorial Park" Quarter can only be found in circulation and they are quite rare with a maximum of 2 million produced. The Mint did this with the purpose of generating excitement for coin collecting by introducing rare coins into circulation to find. These "W" quarters were mixed in with bags of coins minted from the Philadelphia and Denver Mint and will be found by lucky collectors like you who are keeping a close eye on their pocket change! So put in a 2x2 and keep it.
The short answer is to only get coins graded if you think the TOTAL cost of grading the coin is less than how much extra value grading will add to the value of the coin. In this case the fees to grade you will notice will be higher than the value of that coin in that condition when you check the PCGS or ngc price guide. Coins like that can be sold also 'raw' without grading as it has value, just less than if it were certified to be a higher grade in a graded holder.

This is the only release I'm missing of the 2019's in PCGS MS65 to complete that year. They are listed at just over $100 on the low side and have been for months without selling. My estimate is that in this grade they'll sell once they reach the $50.00 mark. That said, and clearly your's is not an MS65- an AU at best, the cost to grade would prohibit you any profit. In fact, you'd lose money. Best to put it in a 2x2 flip or album keeping it for what it is.

Interesting, I don't collect quarters but I'll be watching for one of these. Thanks for the education!

Tough coin to find in circulation. I searched for months when they were first issued and the American Memorial Park W's just did not show up here in Texas. The AMP W's were one of the 2019 issues that got distributed to select cities and were supposedly salted into rolls by the armored car companies. I think the armored car people figured out pretty quick what was going on and snagged and sold many of the W's in bulk. I finally broke down and bought a BU roll of them off ebay from a dealer in the mid-west for just under 500$. Took 20 of those and resold them on ebay and recouped my investment. Sent the remaining best coins in for grading and got 65 and 66's! Thankfully, the Mint figured out what was happening and the later 2019 W issues, and all of the 2020 W issues got mixed in to the D and P Ballistic Bags at the Mint. That helped to cut down on the armored car company hanky panky. Ironically, the last W coin I found was a AMP! Got it in change a local gas station or Target in Frisco, Texas about 6 months ago! Always nice to find them! Congrats!
