Hope you don't mind me posting all these. Me believe this is another major Greaser Strike Through Error on the Obverse and minor on the Reverse. What do you think? "LOVE THE HUNT!"

Coinfrog, yes, over 9 years of searching half dollars. Saw the roll in my safe and decided to take a look at what I had. I have a really nice POOR 1 1976 Half if I send it in I believe it will grade at that. It blows me away how much someone is willing to pay for a PO1 PCGS graded coin.

@Arby: The second coin I will not discuss. The first one you state grease and etc.. Are you sure it is not an press adjustment? By what I see is more this then grease. You know, two sides grease O and R with very clear signs of new Die? I am sceptic. What it is your feeling on?

Silviosi, I truly don't know, I haven't very many press adjustment coins to be able to tell the difference.

On the other post with example like this I give a second opinion. This coin seem to be more press adjustment then the other. How it is work:
A new die is done, then install and in order to see the right press forces, is tested gradually till the acceptable Mint specs are rich. You have an JFK which normally need 120 tone force to be strike. Before they strike Quarter at 80 tone. So the fix at approx. 100 tone and start the tests and gradually grow the forces. why, because is not only the force of the press which must be adjust, many others factors comes in the game. Like this you can have an adjustment press coin, because they do no put in recycle bin, just let go in circulation. Example: Phill at 62 presses will strike more or less 200 coins adjustments (for each press, mean 12400 coins) so those are not illegal coins, are just week strike.
those in general are price well coins.

What is the weight of the OP's coin? (Just confirming that the grease was the issue) If the weight is normal, then it was a grease strike through error. But the rims to me look pretty weak to be just a Struck Through Grease error? Arby96's coin looks like a pocket piece. ))_HALF_DOLLARS_AAA.jpg)

I think if it was a die adjustment, the rims would not be that wore down.

@CuJohn. You are wright about the second coin in what is concern the rim. This it is the reason I do not pronounced on. On die adjustment the rim is not touch. The second coin has the rim at the same high as the rest of the coin which put doubts. Hope help.
