I've inherited a huge coin collection and found this unique coin. Thoughts?

Welcome! I don't know what happened to that coin but it didn't happen at the mint. As such, not an error and not worth much of anything. At first glance is looks like a heavily corroded ground find, but the bi-color appearance suggests it was thickly plated or painted and then corroded. Tough to guess exactly what happened on a lot of these damaged coins.

Give us an idea of what else is in this huge collection!

Environmental damage of some sort. Not an error.

@jen, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes even damaged Indian Head cents have some value though.

Worn common-date Indian cents typically sell for about $1. The damage and corrosion makes this one worth even less.

I agree, this coin is post mint damaged.
Valued at around 5 cents in this condition.
