I'm back! Well for now, as there are more projects coming up but home for a week after 39 days on the road working every one of them with no days off. Anyway, getting a look at the couple things I cherrypicked while away. Very frustrating how many coins listed as BU or uncirculated are coming in cleaned. The original images on ebay of this one looked very good, but in hand it is obviously cleaned and under the scope shows the fine scratches. Dang. 1924 Lincoln Wheat cent doubled die - DDR-001

Glad to have you back and posting again @tb. The spread on the E of EPU is impressive on this one.

Aloha TB, welcome back kinda! Nice looking DDR on an older BU LWC and I don't see the cleaning evidence though I'll take your word on it. The stretch on the dots stand out to me.

Thanks folks! Yeah, it's cleaned but pretty easy to miss in the pics. Color looked off so put it under the scope and sure enough you can see all the hairline cleaning marks. But decided to keep it anyway since still looks pretty good and that's not a super-easy die to find.
Gotta clean out the bat cave once in a while! Next two projects are teaching at bat workshops which is easier stuff so a bit of time away from the tough stuff.

Seems like the glow is missing off the coin images.

That is a good cherry pick, assuming you got it at reasonable price. As said, despite cleaning, still a great looking coin. 39 days straight. I got to take at a Sunday off one day during my 36 day field season this summer. So I don't feel so bad now. LOL.

Thanks! Pretty sure if it weren't cleaned my $50 purchase price would have been reasonable. As a details coin, less so, but still decided to keep it as just so tough to find one of these in any kind of decent shape and this one is sharp.
