So I have the opportunity to service an antebellum home close to where I'm from, every month, and it proves difficult to get my stuff done, as all the old relics are on display, with captions posted telling who owned and where it came from, it's purpose, etc! So I'm having to look through a bedside table drawer and I see this in a bag, with some mostly 60's, some 70's, along with a couple 80's Lincoln cents! Obviously I can tell it was a necklace, but this thing is as big as a Kennedy half, while the other 2 smaller ones attached to the Lincoln side are maybe the size of a pencil eraser, maybe slightly larger, but smaller than the buttons on your pole shirt! Then you see the Indian headon reverse, but this thi g has some weight to it, didn't have a scale, would've liked to have gotten a weight, but what did they make this out of? I realize I'm a noob to coins, but is this just someone molding metal to look like coins, or something else?

@ccb, they make metal coasters that look like coins, so why not this pendant? It is pretty beat up, but I'm especially intrigued by the presence of a smaller cent on there. I wonder if the designer was just filling space or there was a specific reason.

Long, long ago I saw something very similar at a coin show. Certainly a novelty piece.

Do you know the weight? I've seen items like this listed on ebay as rare pattern or just RARE 1965 Penny. Spence said... Quote: ...I'm especially intrigued by the presence of a smaller cent on there. I wonder if the designer was just filling space or there was a specific reason.
Those are there to make sure that someone doesn't accidentally spend it.

A+ on the post title by the way! Excellent use of "What on God's Green Earth". If that expression is not familiar to you, you're too young!
