Just to the left of the L on the rim, there appears to be a mark. Could this be considered a Cud if the rim is involved? |

that's a die chip at his mouth, very common on dimes, even moreso on 21st century ones, the mark on the rom looks like damage

Not an error, Die Chips are part of the minting process or
a Die Event as coop would say. No extra value.

@bla, regardless of whether that is smeared metal damage or a die chip, I think that the bulk of the value in this coin comes from the silver content.

a die chip in a location I have not seen in yet - nice find. (the mark on the rim is incused and is considered damage.

Probably the coin was in a fire. That area may have had a bubble. The bubble was flattened to make it work in a vending machine. Just a damaged coin, spender.  Note the dull finish and the darker color. |
