Here are overlays:    If the planchet is thinned, that would explain the under weight? If the weight is normal, then the Washington could be a Struck Through Grease error. Depending on what is going on with the coin. But a very nice clash error. (Had to create images for this type of clash) |

There were some other parts of the design that I questioned but I dismissed because of the weak strike. Seller said he got them from his local bank so there maybe lots of these floating around. |

Wow. Thanks Coinhi and Tanman. It would have gotten me as well even though I picked up a pair of counterfeit clashed Peace dollars (along with some "regular" counterfeit CC dollars) a couple of years ago that were presented as legit. I realized they were bogus but wanted them as a learning tool. 10 packaged together so they couldn't be weighed individually. All were underweight, which is a good indicator of counterfeit. The strong design elements on the deeper parts of the die were a big part of the visual giveaway. EDIT: Also, I just noticed that on the counterfeit, the tip of Georges's nose seems to have a crease/fold that resembles a nose wattle. LOL  Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.
