Neither an error or PMD
A die chip is a die event caused by the Die Deterioration and breaking down.

Part of the reason for the replacement of the large date design that year. A lot of the Small dates had issues with that design.

nice die chip too. extra value, no not really - unless you find a buyer of coins with die chips on them.
