Does not look like normal Machine Doubling to me but I'm not sure. Has anyone ever seen this before? How does it happen?

Looks like Die Deterioration Doubling.
Machine Doubling would not have the secondary doubling
spread out, it would follow the contours of the device.

Double bounce MD? Definitely an oddity for me.

Thank you for you input. I am starting to lean toward Die Deterioration but the lines look too uniform or too even. Does anyone else have anything like this?

Yes, appears to be extensive Die Deterioration issues--excellent example. A keeper for curiosity purposes.

Thank all of you for you input. I think we answered my questions. I will keep it seeing that it's only worth, a quarter, lol.

Thanks again.

Movement towards the rim is DDD. The Machine Doubling is also what you are seeing. Neither are a doubled die. Just post striking issue (MD) and the extreme die wear on the Metal movement to the devices issues. Just a spender, unless you want to show it to a new collector and educate them.
