1936 Mercury dime - You vs PCGS scratch on the obverse under the "T" is on the coin but very hard to see in hand. The mark under the "Y" on the obverse appears to be a die-crack or struck through. The scratch on the reverse under "Unum" is on the holder. I've been collecting for a couple years... Shot at MS-64FB. The scratch under the T detracts.

Not the sharpest of strikes on the obverse, scratch under 'T' obvious in the pic, but still MS-64 FSB

I think the devises are very sharp leading me to believe this is an EDS... MS-65FB I like it! smat

I would side with the MS64FSB crowd.

That obverse looks like a Proof. All the details on the reverse are razor sharp. I'm going to go with PR-64.

Quote: That obverse looks like a Proof. I was thinking that as well...but I couldn't see the top rim on the obverse or reverse. Maybe a slight angle of how the pic was taken? I might have to change from MS-65FB to PR-64 as well. Good call IGE! smat

I also think it's a proof from my first look the reverse is just to well struck up. The polish around the eye also looks proof, I'm a bit lower on grade than everyone else though I think PR63 maybe even PR62, though usually the 62 proof range has spotting and I don't see any on this one so PR63 final for my best guess.

good call IGE. I was thinking wow those verticals and diagonals have super sharp edges and definition. the holder is not helping with all the marks, scuffs and light distortion. its either an EDS or proof. i'll concede PR63 maybe 64
