Is this considered a " Blowhole"?

Just zinc rot.. Blow holes are copper cent errors and I don't believe they can happen on copper plated zinc cents.

Interesting to see the white-colored active corrosion on the zinc. Sorry but this cent is just a spender.

Looks like a hole was punched through the coin
and the zinc is starting to rot on both sides.

Nice example of a perforation, complete with rotting zinc.

Or glue on the coin? It doesn't look like Elmer's glue as it is not seen through. If the areas are incuse, you could be seeing zinc, which means the zinc planchet is breaking away. It was normal, the fell apart later in circulation. Not a keeper. Just damage to the coin.

Not glue, it's a hole. JimmyD has the answer.

Blowholes do occur on copper-plated zinc cents. But the OP's cent does suffer from zinc rot.

Thanks Mike. Would the interior of the Blowhole be plated with copper on a zinc cent?

Also I will add.:

The color of the coins show expos to the Cl, which source is hard to say. If a platted zinc coin exposed to Cl and has the Cl access to Zn will form this oxide and also blow the ZN.
