I picked up two 2022 silver eagles within the last 8-10 days from two different locations. The first one seems to be fine, with the correct die alignment for coins. The second coin came in todays mail. As I was trying to decide which coin to put into my type set I noticed that this coin had a "medal or token" die alignment. Either that or it has a 180 degree die rotation. See pictures. The coin on the left has the correct (I think) die alignment. The coin on the right is off 180 degrees. Also does the date on the coin on the left look odd? Edited by Alpha33 01/07/2023 8:23 pm

I say the ASE on the right is a fake, detail is wrong on nearly every aspect.

Unfortunately, the one on the right is a shoddy fake, as others have noted.

Among other issues, look at how the sun's ray cuts across the "L" in LIBERTY.

Even the rays of the sun as they pass under the L are out of place. This is a terrible copy. made by someone that has no idea of the coin turn vs medal turn of US coinage.

The one on the right is a fake.
Where is the position of "missing reed" on both of them that is "supposed" to thwart counterfeiting?

That's good news! Did you have to send the bad egg back? Was it even silver?

I bet seller knowingly that he/she is selling fake ASE, and one's that asked for a refund will certainly received without question. Edit: And you don't need to send it back to the seller, just ask ebay.
