I'm slowly putting together a Washington registry set. This is a recent addition to my collection. Nicely toned imo. What do you think PCGS graded this beauty?

The toning and lighting make this one hard to grade. The weakness I think I see in the strike leads me to believe this is held back to an MS65. There is a large scratch in the right obverse feild too. I hope I am wrong because this is a beautiful coin!

WOW! I only see a single tiny nick behind George's head in the field and maybe a weak spot on the obverse rim around the "R" in Liberty. Fantastic color too, I'm going all in at MS67+ I think it needs to have more luster showing to make a full MS68 at the price difference from 67+ to 68 grades - About $12-15K more.

PCGS loves this kind of toning. me...not so much but I dont count.

I'm going with MS67. really tough to see any of the surfaces with the heavy toning. I've always wondered how TPG graders see through it to accurately grade a coin

I will go MS66+ nice toning. Does look like a little scratch to right of George's ponytail and on his neck.

Thanks folks. I did pay a little extra for the toning (still less than what it's worth imo).Everyone is right in the ballpark. I'll post the grade tomorrow night.

This one came in at ms66. It has a few hard hits on the obverse that kept it to a 66 imo. Also this coin reminds me of coins that go much higher than book value at auction. In David Lawrence auctions they go really high for some reason.
