This is slabbed in an ANACS case, curious what grade you think it would get. It's been there a long time. Pictures were really hard. Will post what ANACS said later today. Might consider this one for a cross over to PCGS, but it may be living its best life already where it sits.

It's not sitting straight in the holder, which is why one side looks slightly blurred that the other. And there is no T is "Trust"

Obverse shows signs of an old light cleaning. Details along obverse rims and the VDB are weaker than would be expected based on level of wear. Reverse is a solid Fine but the obverse is no better than VG. Small reverse dings are a minor distraction. I'd call it VG-8 overall. Not worth crossing, IMO; the ANACS slab proves authenticity which the important issue for this date.

Obverse die #4
whoa talk about disparity in the sides when you first look at this. but I'm going with a pretty weak obv strike on this one. looking at the lettering I think the obv is around VF25 reverse a tad better at VF30 the hits on the reverse have to detail coin. I'm going to lean towards my obv grade VF25
if this coin is in a straight holder no way I would cross it over to PCGS as there is a high chance it would detail

PCGS crosses about 38% of submissions. You pay the grading fee if it crosses or not. If the coin does cross, there is also a crossing fee. If the coin is in a straight grade holder, there is not much of a chance crossing at grade with the possible cleaning and reverse hits.
My Grade: VG8/10

Hard to believe a G-6 or VG-8 would have that much wheat ear detail remaining... I put it in the VF category with weak strike.

This one has been hard for me to figure out too. I've seen PCGS holders of these Pennies have the same diagonal lines as mine straight graded MS. Not sure what's caused it but I don't think it's cleaning. And another PCGS with a same weak front and nice reverse F15 the gouges on the reverse may keep it from a straight grade though

Methinks that F-15 PCGS-graded cent is seriously overgraded.

ANACS gave it a straight grade of F-12

I suppose F12 is a decent compromise for this odd example. Not worth re-holdering given its below-average eye appeal.

I would have guessed details for the reverse damage. F12 straight grade is generous IMO and I would not attempt to cross it to PCGS. Most buyers for this coin are looking for TPG evidence of authenticity and your ANACS slab has that covered. Leave it as is.

me thinks they netted this one due to the stronger reverse rather than nail it for those digs. I have an XF40 on with a very light scratch thats hardly noticeable and PCGS detailed it. no way this one crosses straight. leave it be and be happy it got a 15
