I've posted a few threads on Morgans on the forum as I try to figure these out... I'm finding them in Rome for €30 or less... I bought 8 today at €26.25 or €27.50... the coin below is one I picked up a few weeks ago for about the same price... Common date, but cleaned, of course. Am I on point paying about $27.50?

$27.50 is a decent price for any Morgan at this time. Just have to ensure they are genuine (this one looks fine based on images.)

@Bump, I see a lot of fakes in Rome; the fakes I come across are under or overweight, clearly tooled, look wrong, ie bubbly letters and signs of tooling, and never ping on pingcoin. I am prett confident in spotting a fake. I am just out of line with with pricing in the U.S. - ebay and youtube are my only real gauges on price. thanks for the confirmation.

I'd buy those Morgan's all day long at that price. Nice finds!

I should add this one doesn't jump out at me as being cleaned. Does it have the cartwheel luster when turned? The reverse kinda looks like it might.

This coin is definitely cleaned, it is very apparent.
$27 Euros actually comes out to $30 US dollars.
Decent price, I personally wouldn't buy any and all for $30, but rather pick out the nicer ones.

@numismatics... Morgans at at $27.50 or €26-26.25... The coin is definitely cleaned/polished. I can see hairlines throughout the fields... Etc. Here are some I bought yesterday at €26.25

this looks legit. i'll go with AU55. it looks a little dull for a mid AU coin however it may have been dipped a while ago and retoned. it might grade straight.

Thanks @Pan!
This coin does have polishing hairlines in the fields; most coins I find in Rome have been dipped or polished; I have found about 50-60 Morgans (and about 30 Peace) and I suspect about 10-15 haven't been cleaned; of those . . . maybe 6-8 are heavily circulated.
I'm curious what cleaned Morgans and Peace sell for in the U.S. - ones like the coin above with hairlines . . .
Thanks!

I was at a local show in NC over the weekend and saw circulated common-date coins selling between $30-$40. Prices are easing down in the last few months.

Thanks @Bump. I imagine there are a lot of sellers right now; at least from what I hear about prices in the U.S.

@pan...thank you again... Here's the closest I can get to a photo of the hairlines... In curious how this impacts the value of a Morgan... Most aren't this polished but many are at least dipped.

Panzaldi- It is very obvious this coin has issues, and the fact you cannot see that is concerning.
