Is wrote 1 items, bur two cert No. for only one item. What a heck precedent it is this? So if I had an DDO and DDR I will have two No cert. for same coin? So if I will buy this coins I will pay for first or second cert? It is crazy, un-logical.

This is 2 coins, it's an 1860 O Seated Liberty half dollar with a 1/2 Seated dime obstruction error & a Seated half dime that was struck onto a Seated half dollar. I think they treat the 1st coin as a stand-alone an obstruction error. An obstruction error is not even close to a common error, but finding the obstruction from a given error is even more un-common. This is to say you can have a coin with an obstruction error and sometime down the road you could in theory run across the obstruction.

Your explanation it is OK for me but what I read on your screen post it is one item not two items. No doubt for me not to be a rare error. This kind is rare for any denomination. Maybe Mike Diamond will like to know this one and to wrote about.

I can't wait to see the descriptions on the slab(s). And I continue to get some chuckles out of this - so they gave an MS63 to one side of a coin? Excellent result so far, although like the above post my head is still exploding.

Me I expected to has the inscription Forced Mint Error. Is not, is better. I state this because if we look at the presses arrangement in that time and how the presses act (manually) we understand how this error occur. Nice one this.

It could have been a planchet from striking 1/2 dimes that was stuck in the machine and vibrated out when they started striking half dollars on the same machine. The New Orleans mint struck 1/2 dimes in 1860 as well. PCGS could not or did not confirm the obstruction as being a struck Half Dime. So, it could or is a factual error.

So they are saying Half Dime planchet, but you said there are remnants of the strike right?
