Are Wheat Pennies becoming increasingly rare in change?
It seems that bank-rolls of pennies are the best-places to find where those rare 'Wheat Pennies.'
If a specific bank sells those bank-rolls containing even a few 'Wheat Pennies,' can it be said that this bank's bank-rolls might possibly be the best places to find 1910 to Pre-WWII 'Wheat Pennies?'

That is true, but then it has been a long time since they were minted. I suspect that pre 1982 full on copper cents will too soon become less and less available.

In the past year I can only recall getting one in change. I haven't been searching bank boxes lately but you can usually find 3 or more in a box.

I got one out of a Kroger U scan a few months ago. Haven't searched rolls of cents for awhile but always received at least one about every 10 rolls.

Considering that Lincoln Wheat Cents have not been minted for 65 years, it's surprising that they are still found by hunters and occasionally in change.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

to the Community! For several years I have been saying that the Wheat cent finds should be celebrated.

Buffalo nickels diminished to rare in circulation within 30 years. and maybe wheats have reached the equivalent after 65 years

to the CCF Of course they are becoming less common to find in circulation over time - it's simply a natural occurrence that I call 'circulation obsolesce' and can actually be measured using the statistics of folks who do a lot of roll hunting. I did so for Jefferson and Buffalo nickels for many years. https://www.coincommunity.com/forum...PIC_ID=58454

I've been getting three or four every week for the past 10 or 12 years from my local circle K. The cashiers actively search for them and other anomalies and set them aside for me.

I found one in change in March 2022, and one cleaning out a locker at work in June 2022! That's not including the three that I've found on sidewalks within the past year. My dad also often gives me anomalies he finds in his change; he's given me two within the past year, including recently a 1920 (!) Wheat cent he'd just gotten up north, 103 years after it was minted! I'd imagine Indian Head cents weren't quite this common in circulation in the early 70s.

I received this 1942 in change at the grocery store last week. I was the first Wheatie I've seen in the wild in quite some time.
