Key test is does it stick to a magnet? Weight? Likely plated, based on appearance.

Most likely plated. A lot of them were by people having fun trying to fool others.

Modern Chinese fakes also are not uncommon.

Has the look of being plated after it left the mint. Magnet test and weight?

An accurate weight to 0.01 grams resolution is the key to knowing. Certainly appears to be a plated coin which indicates not authentic.

It was placed in a bezel then plated. on the reverse you can see were the eyelet was before it broke off. It was a form of cheap jewelry for kids back in the day

Yes, a jewelry creation--plated, with bezel.
