I came across this dime and was wondering if this is a mint error? I have only came by 1 other dime that is also a 1967 as well, only the other one isn't a full circle. Both are 1967 but the other is a little broadstruck. The indents are exactly the same though. These are only two dimes out of a giant glass bottle about a foot and a half tall!

Thoughts?

PMD. I saw another one a few days ago. Some folks say wrapping machine. For me is clear someone punch this coin on purpose. Circle has double strike that could be see.

Yep sorry that looks like damage to me too. These circular grooves didn't happen during the striking process.

Both are damaged as stated, also I think you are confusing the term broadstruck. A broadstruck coin is struck without a collar and will be slightly larger diameter, no reeding and no raised rim. No such thing as "slightly" broadstruck.

It's a damaged coin. That circle is generally caused by a coin rolling machine making the end crimp, but as silviosi says it could have been caused by a round punch. Either way it's simply a damaged coin.

I wonder why it's just on the 1967's? Has anyone found this circle on another year? Penny? Nicole? Quarter? Thanks

I'm sure that there were some from other denominations that get the special 'circle of death' when they are mechanically rolled. Your dimes were just enders in a dime roll.

It shows up on all years and all denominations, do a quick search here and you'll find lots of them.

It's sheer mathematics. With more than 2.2 billion struck and with them being around for 55+ years, there have been plenty of opportunities for them to be enders.
