After applying the mintmark by hand to the die, a bajillion of these would have been struck. As a general rule, we advise folks that the mintmark has to be so far from the target area that it is touching another design element for there to be added numismatic value. To the right of the bust and under the date: They were hand punched until 1990. After 1990 the mintmarks are on the Master hub/master dies/working hubs, thus the are all in the same location for the whole year on the mintmark coins. Report this Post to the Staff
