I collect Roosies (someone has to!), and have been working on a 1946-64 set of MS66 with full torches. Separately, I have a complete Dansco album with mostly raw coins, but a few crackouts, and every once in a while I'll replace a nondescript MS dime with one that has more character, like the one pictured. I think the technical grade might be lower than the dime it replaced, but the late state die cracks on the reverse with the word AMEDICA are interesting to me.

Happy collecting!

I'm with Ijn. Nice images.
I do like the "D" alter ego on the "R" of AMERICA.
That was a lot of polishing going on.

Makes me wonder if there was a strong clash they were trying to remove.

Agree that replacement 1953-S has a lot of interesting character.

I did the same thing for my OFEC (one from each country). It's at 300 entries, and everyone is about character over grade (although I do have about 1/3 that are mint state).
There's just something about coin that has mileage...

I'm just starting to put together a ms set of silver Roosevelt. I love the toning they get. It seems more pronounced than on other series. Maybe because of the small size?
