Hello I am new to the coin hunting hobby and would like to see if I found anything awesome. I was looking through a box of Kennedy half dollars and found a 1974 that the reverse is rotated completely upside down. Looking closer it also has a double die stamp error on it as well. My question to the group is would this be worth getting graded? Thank you for your time and remarks.

we will need much better to see any doubling you see on the coin.
as for the rotation of your coin, can you take another image of it? - using a mirror so we can see both sides at the same time in the same image.
Also, is that a P or D mint mark on your rotated half? (I can't tell with the current images.)

The mirror will show it's rotated, but not exactly how much. If you have the software, you can do the overlay approach with it in a two by two or something similar to reference the flip and rotation. Thanks, Doug.

Look carefully around the rim on the REV. Although the pic is hard to tell for sure, there seems to be a seam around the inside of the rim.

I am hoping I am wrong, but I am thinking you have a Magicians coin. If you do a ping test and it has a dull thud instead of ringing like a normal coin then it is a Magician's coin: A hollowed out half dollar made for the magic trick called "Scotch and Soda." You can use a search engine to find that.

You can separate the two parts using what is known as a bang ring (search engine). Or get a thick sided drinking glass, put the coin inside, and shake the coin against the insides of the glass until the parts separate.

In the picture you are looking at the inside of the hollowed out half dollar and the Mexican peso which has the REV of another half dollar soldered onto it. The peso can therefore "hide inside" a half dollar.

Sometimes they use a British Penny.

I'm with Earle as it's something to be aware of. Current images are not conclusive at this point. Thanks, Doug.

Hello,
I didn't find a mirror but I do have a food scale. I put it on grams and weighed it. It came in at 11 grams were another three coins weighed in at 12 grams. I also noticed a rattle when I shook it in my hand.

huh, I thought everybody had a mirror somewhere (bathroom is a good place to find one) and a food grade scale is not accurate for measuring coins. It need to be able to read to 2 decimal points. (0.00grams)
Also have you tried to open it up yet?
