There are several differences between a coin and medal beside the lack of denomination on a medal. The medal will also lack "In God We Trust". I believe also "E Pluribus Unum" is required on a coin. Unsure if the reeded edge is required, I know the 2023 medal does not but the coin does, however a cent also does not and some of the modern dollar coins also do not. Also the orientation of the obverse is different between a coin and medal, I think that is by law, coin is oriented up/down, the medal is left/right. Report this Post to the Staff
