Sorry in advance. I feel like I'm probably wasting your time with certain things I post. I've been putting this off for awhile. Just that these ( lines ) in the rim are bothering me I haven't seen any like this before. It's probably something to do about metal flow but/or ( I don't know) What do you think? (About the lines )

I don't think so John. They look like grind/filed marks? They go in different directions. I can't picture that though. Here's pictures of the whole area.

Can you post up some edge images? Maybe it is some sort of compaction of the metal form an exterior source.

Coop. Those lines in the channel of the rim are Post strike damage? What/how could it get in there?

Potential bezel damage? I can't for the life of me imagine why anyone would put a modern Lincoln Cent in a bezel, but crazier things have shown up here.

I don't know, but there are a lot of cents with this. My assessment,[ oo that's a big word for me] is that that area of the coin is not struck. It's between the die and the collar. The blank rolls through the up setter which forms the edge, then this valley is created when the die pushes metal towards the collar. That results in the two different heights.

Lol. Cujohn I don't/can't use big words either. I get what you're saying. I'm thinking that's how Rim Cuds are ( created ) biggy word). Just wondering where/how those lines get in the groove. I don't think it's from a bezel setup but like nfine mentioned who knows. The whole reverse rim looks the same as these pictures. This coin is probably going in the file for

Ok. But don't know what else there is to ask or say about it. I'll just tie it up in its stall.

Rob, look on the edge of the coin and see if you can see what they show on this "wide collar" strike. Closest thing I've found so far, but still looking. LINK https://www.error-ref.com/wide-collar/
