I'm looking for some help with this 1922 D. I've looked at the diagnostics for the weak D and am reasonably sure this isn't one. Having said that, the second 2 seems weaker than the first & it's possible that the O of ONE is weaker & spread left which might make it a candidate for die pair #3. Hoping someone knowledgeable can help out. The pictures were taken under different magnification & lighting.

I see what you mean about the O in ONE, but this is just a regular 1922-D, not a weak D.

I agree with Zurie (and you) about this not being a weak "D".

Weak means barely seen:
Missing 'D':

Weak 'D':

Normal mintmark location:

1922-D cents were only struck at Denver. (No Philly or San Francisco cents that year) Only Denver mint struck cents that year.

Note how the dates are affected on the missing 'D' examples, compared with the weak/weakened mintmarks:

See how the 22 is weakened even more on the date on the missing 'D' examples?

While I was reasonably certain this wasn't a weak D I had to ask for opinions after reading the following quote from PCGS & looking at the pictured coin. I underlined the part that seems ambiguous. https://www.PCGS.com/news/do-you-re...-weak-d-cent

Quote:
There are two die pairs PCGS categorizes as "Weak D" (spec #3110). The ANA's die pair #1 is identifiable by a small, sharp "T" in "TRUST," a weak terminal "2" in the date (in contrast to the aforementioned variety), and a "jogging" die crack emanating from the reverse rim to the "O" in "ONE," slightly skipping down as it passes through to the inside of the letter (not to be confused with a similar crack that extends straight through the "O" without being diverted found on some standard 1922-D cents). Die pair #3 has a weak terminal "2" and a mushy "O" ("ONE") that melts into the field at bottom left. All examples from these two pairs are considered "Weak D," regardless of the extent of mint mark visibility, which can vary with a coin's grade and the extent of Die Deterioration. While less scarce than the "No D, Strong Reverse" examples, "Weak D" pieces still command a strong premium over their standard 1922-D (#2537) counterparts.

This one appears to be fractionally off center, possibly accounting for the anomalies noted.
