Don't see these very often so figured it was worth posting. Most of the stuff on the edge of a coin is tough to appreciate as you can't easily see it, but this one is a bit more beefy than most. A lot of broken collars seem to be at 180 degrees from each other, but this one is fairly close together encompassing a short arc. This gives the metal a smaller area to go through, creating a bit wider of an offset than the really wide breaks. While I wish the coin were a tad less spotty, overall it's a rare error on a good date in UNC condition so pretty happy all around about it. 1968-S Lincoln Memorial cent mint error - broken collar

Did you find this one? Pretty awesome! Reminds me of the Collar Breaks I posted on here. They were from 1973.

It was sort of an ebay pick. Small group of fairly nice off center and broadstrikes had this little gem in the corner. It was even labeled correctly on the slip but you couldn't really see the error so I guess no one felt confident bidding. Got the whole deal for less than $25 and the other coins are really quite nice as well.

That is pretty cool. Looks like the diameter is about one mm larger in that one region.

Excellent example. I haven't seen one before that I remember. It sounds like Congrats is in order on the entire lot.

That is a great example and explanation of these errors. Nice score!

So was the collar broken, but the section was only pushed back and not lost completely?
