Came across this note recently and kind of liked it. Condition isn't great, but it's a fairly low number star note. Thoughts?

I don't know enough about currency...but I sure do like to watch and learn...
what does the reverse/back look like...?
I'm not sure about the "low serial #"...?
But I was under the impression that low serial #'s where 3 digits or less...? I could/probably be wrong...?

That's a ferderal reserve bank note for St. Louis and it's also a replacement, you are talking $300-$500 based on the guides in fine condition. You have what I would call a keeper.

The serial number isn't really low and for this rather rare note it's not worth any premium for the serial number.

Agree, tough note but not in the best condition, $300+ seems a fair value. Not a low serial number.

I agree with both Helder and Mr.Frog.
Does "came across" mean you saw the note, bought the note or found the note ?

Got it. Almost got knocked out by a dealer, but ended up paying $195 including shipping. Was willing to go a bit higher, but glad I didn't have to.

Tough note, but few collect them in this low condition I'm afraid.

I thought so too, hfjacinto. Looked like at least a 15 to me. Be interesting to see in-hand. I'll repost pictures when it arrives. I feel the price I paid was quite fair.
