Thanks for the info on how to submit coins for attribution. I was under the impression that you paid a set fee and the grading service identified what you had like an overdate, repunched date,
DDO,
DDR and so on. So when you submit a coin you pay a separate attribute fee plus grading fee. I am glad to understand that now.
This particular over date 1858/7 was a die that was used for 1857 coins that was updated with an 8 that left the tip of the 7 exposed. Snow talks about die stages A,B and C. As the die was polished the 7 's tip started to fade away and that is how the Weak stage variety was attributed. That is what I have heard, does anyone else have a different understanding?
