I think this is too high, his response: First Class 2 day Priority Mail, insurance, delivery confirmation, packaging & handling. you may pick it up at the store for no charge. Charge is $9.06 for [eBayItem]250408488567[/eBayItem]
Thanks for feedback

Don't you guys get it? He means a package with first class postage, then put into a Prioirty mail box which gets there in 2 days instead of the normal 3! And is this coin really worth about $400? This could be easily put into a small flat rate box for $4.80! And that includes D/C! So... is it really worth that much? Because insurance for $400 is about $4. Wait... but for delivery options it says US Postal Service First Class MailŪ. Where is the priority mail you saw?

If First Class, that seems a bit steep. I think I'd ship that with tracking and insurance for under $4.

Second response: Your welcome. It's not cheap anymore. Good luck. Mark

Oh yeah, I read your original post. Sorry for saying that you were wrong! Anyways, I would not think of any reason for this to cost $9 in shipping. PayPal fees are high, but then again that's one of the bad sides of selling on ebay. So... then again what would be the fair market value of this baby? **Back again, I think if in the event you buy it, you can give him a 0 for one of the DSRs. You can't really complain to ebay, though...

It's worth about $50. Yeah the $9 shipping is a little high but if you want the coin, just factor that into your bid.
Why someone would bid and then leave a poor DSR for shipping cost is beyond me. I could see leaving 4 stars or maybe as low as 3 but you know what the cost is. If you don't want to pay $9 shipping then don't bid.

I agree with bherring1964- if you don't want to pay $9 for shipping, don't bid OR you factor that into your bid and if you win, you have to give him 4-5 stars on the shipping cost, because you factored the shipping into your bid.

I disagree. If the package arrives and there is $9 WORTH of stamps, insurance, delivery confirmation, packaging & handling then that is ok.
But if they charge $9 and send it in a flimsy envelope with $1 in stamps then I feel they should get marked down. Regardless of whether or not I took it into account when bidding.
Shipping cost should be for shipping, packaging, handling etc. not for bumping up the profit, trying to catch out inexperienced buyers who did not notice the exorbitant shipping costs until it was too late.
The number of stars depends if as a buyer you feel you got your money's worth from the shipping cost that you paid.
The rating for shipping cost is if it was reasonable given the way it was shipped, not about if it was reasonable when taking into account the price you got the goods for.
Just my opinion, I'm not saying it's any more valid than anyone else's opinion.

If you don't want to pay $9 shipping then don't bid. I agree...the cost is upfront, so you know what you're paying. What I dont get would be the buyers that give less than perfect stars because they are upset with what the post office is charging. I show a slight loss overall on shipping and my DSR is 4.75 for that category. My other categories are 4.89 to 4.92. 4.75 isn't bad, but it's not consistent with my other ratings, and would be if the buyers actually took the time to compare what I charged versus the actual postage.
