Hey! So I've had this in my collection for a little bit, since getting it in pocket change. .. and I had a couple questions.

It's obviously been "Living its best life out in the wild", but considering it is in good shape. IMVHO
Questions:
*Would it be considered FS or does the PMD nick ruin that?
* LDS or slight doubling (obv)
* Keep in collection or release into the wild?

Thanks!

Not full steps (plus the nick, as you noted). Maybe keep until a better one comes along?

In my opinion, not full steps. I'm seeing evidence of Die Deterioration. Suggest keeping it as an album hole filler. If you have better '57 examples, you could release this one.

it has lots of steps, but none of them are continuous from side to side.
a bit of DDD
But overall, a nice coin to keep in the collection

I know someplace here Coop has a graphics showing how inconsistent the FS designation can be. Since grading is subjective, the companies are not consistent.

See the essay in my signature for an real eye opener on grading company misattribution of varieties. An over 30% error rate (that is being generous) on (very simple) No FG Kennedy half dollar slabbed coins. All data is linked to the PCGS website for verification. The FS designation is another marketing device the companies can charge a fee for.

How much squash could a Sasquatch squash if a Sasquatch would squash squash?
