If genuine, I'll say AU-50.

Agree--given the images as posted...lower end of the AU scale. A nice coin.

try to get the full coin in your photo. nice sister as the 94(S) is a key date. the issue I see is that the coin had an old cleaning and is re-toning. thats the good news. the bad news is someone wiped the coin with something abrasive. you can see the scratches across PLURIBUS and in the left obv field and a few lighter ones across the cheek. the reverse is better as I'm not seeing similar scratches crossing devices. there are some possible die polish lines but they don't affect grade. a TPG may call the obv harshly cleaned the 94(S)'s are known for sharp and bold strikes. there is some circulation wear on the coin. the highest areas of the hair, around the ear, cotton balls and the leaf above them are also showing some light wear. the eagle breast is too flat for the year some might be strike related but there is circulation wear there overall a nice key coin. a shame someone messed with it as it would be in the $750 range AU55 details (cleaned) i found an AU50 NGC graded details coin similar to yours that sold for $422 and one for $470 I typically do not recommend this but since it is a key in a highly collected series you may want to consider grading the coin to preserve it and prevent any other future problems. I would go PCGS on this one but do consider the grading costs are going to be close to $100 when you consider a $70 subscription fee, plus $23 grading fee plus shipping and insurance both ways it would chew up a good amount of the value of the coin. a PCGS graded coin may increase the price by 10% or so. your other option is to purchase some airtite holders on the internet for a few dollars and just sit it aside and let the price go up. in the last year the coin increased in value by 10%

Thanks panzaldi! My guess is my sister tried to clean the coin. I did not know it was a key date but unfortunately my sister has cognitave issues now so I will keep the coin as I don't have the money to send it to PCGS anyway! Regards all and thank you all for your replies.

since you can't afford to slab this one get some airtite holders online. that will at least protect it going forward. even though the coin is cleaned it will continue to increase in value. thats one good thing about keys in series
