The website never really says why he's collecting all the 1968 pennies. Just states that its important to save the remaining 1968 pennies while they're still found in circulation.

Dunno...13,000 is $130 face. That's just over 2.5 bags.

Hmm...

I have:

2 bags 1968P sealed, 1 bag opened missing about 500 coins.
2 bags 1968D, both open missing a hundred or so coins.
1 bag 1968S sealed.

roughly 30 rolls BU 1968P, 45 rolls BU 1968D, and 40 rolls BU 1968.

I also have around 2,500 more in circulated grades sitting in mixed date bags.

So that's around....let's see....39,000 give or take a couple hundred here and there.

Oh...and I WAS born in 1968. I have a special affinity for die varieties from that year...especially the nice 1968P DDO and the super 1968D DDR.

I saw this website when I first joined this site a few months ago. As such, while I CRH, I pull out all of the the 1968s I find. I've got about 5 rolls. I just haven't gotten around to sending them to this guy. I figure the least I can do for our hobby is help someone who is obviously crazier than I am.

CC- maybe you should start a competing site- the other one really can't claim having the largest 1968 collection. That's not accurate...

mycrob - You go ahead...it's not my style.

Anyway, if I were to try competing to corner the market I'd be doing 1964. I have 1964 bags and rolls everywhere.
